With Kayak you can search for the best price on flights, hotels and car rentals. The app has a clean and simple to use interface that lets you search, view, and book from your smartphone. Simply enter your destination and travel dates and the app spits back options sorted by price, time or airline; a single click takes you to the corresponding booking site.

Kayak also functions as a travel assistant, offering tools for tracking flight status, managing the full trip schedule, looking up baggage fees, and finding food at the terminal.

It is available for free on Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Symbian, and Windows Phone platform.

Trip Advisor is a booking and planning app and can find full reviews and ratings of hotels, restaurants, and attractions around the world. Also you can search for flights and hotels, and book them directly from the app.


You can plan and have the perfect trip and find the best places to eat, sleep, and play. The app also provides to browse more than 50 million reviews and can write a review of any hotel, restaurant or attraction, view photos and get advice in travel forums.

It also helps to see what's nearby with Near Me Now category and save hotel, restaurant, and attraction pages so you can find them again easily.The interesting part of this app is the virtual tour where you can see a street level view of your destination and all that you require. It's available free on Android, iOS, Symbian, and Windows Phone platform.

It also features information about in flight amenities and airline specific information regarding check in, baggage, unaccompanied minors and traveling with infants and pets.


Seat Guru is not technically an app, but it is available as a mobile website that works on any smartphone.

TripIt automatically takes all your trip details and creates one truly helpful schedule which is in sync with your calendar and with your online account on tripit.com.


You can add itineraries by forwarding confirmation email messages to TripIt, or you can just set it to watch your inbox and add itineraries automatically. TripIt pulls relevant information out of the confirmations, and organizes it in one place. Also you can share the trip plans with colleagues, family, and friends, and your trip details are available on both the website and the mobile apps.

It is available on Android, BlackBerry, iOS, and Windows Phone platforms, in addition to the mobile version of the website.

Pack Free displays the items that you want to pack in each individual bag instead of just one big long list. You can also view packing list items by groups or as that big long list.


The app automatically sets how many items you need based on the number of days you are traveling. In case there are any changes in your travel, just change the number of days and it will recalculate all the item counts. You can always change each item count manually later. The packing list can be reset and reused at the touch of a button. But the app is only available for iPhone.
