Foods To Improve Your Eye Sight

1
Carrots Carrot is one of the best vegetables to improve your eyesight. Carrots contain large quantities of Beta-carotene that helps in eye protection. Beta-carotene is transformed into Vitamin A by the liver, and from there it goes to the retina. At the retina, it is again converted into a purple pigment called rhodopsin that is required for night vision. Moreover, beta-carotene's powerful antioxidant protects against senile cataracts development and macular degeneration.

2
Spinach Spinach is rich in two antioxidants called lutein and zeaxanthin that protects the eyes against age-related macular degeneration, one of the causes of irreversible blindness in Western societies. Lutein and zeaxanthin combine to form a yellow oil, called macular pigment. The pigment coats the macula, a part of the retina that distinguishes the details and colors in central vision. This prevents the damage of retinal cells by excess light and oxidation.
